Dialing Problems
Error
message 10011: Technical difficulties with the line, unstable
connection, call terminated
Please
wait a few moments and attempt to place your call again. Your
call will automatically be switched through a different line
in our system. If your call still cannot be completed, email
support@net2phone.com with the word problem
in the subject, and provide the following: your name, account
number, the number you are dialing, the time of the call, and
the exact error messages you received.

Error Message
10038
This error occurs when
you try to check your balance without being connected to the
Internet. Make sure you are connected to the Internet before
making a call or before you check your balance.

Error message
10047: Cannot create control socket
Either you are using
an older version of Net2Phone, or you have an older version of
winsock.dll
If you are using an old version of Net2Phone, please download
the latest version of the software from our web site at
http://www.net2phone.com/english/download.html
and re-install this version of our software.
If you are using the latest version of Net2Phone, you will
need to update your winsock version. Visit http://www.mysharewarepage.com/patches.htm
and download the latest version of Winsock. Click on [GET
IT], and then choose the folder to which you want to save
ws2setup (this is the name of the file you will download).
Once you have finished downloading ws2setup, double
click on ws2setup to install the latest version of
Winsock.
Reboot your computer, and then re-install Net2Phone. This
will ensure that Net2Phone is using the updated version of Winsock
which you just installed.

Error message
10054: Connection to server was lost
Most likely you lost the connection between your PC and the Net2Phone
server because the system timed out too quickly. You will need
to go into the net2fone.ini file and make a change. Under "config",
add a line and enter "setuptimeout=60".

Error message
10055: Can not create data socket
Make sure that you are
connected to the Internet.
Please close all applications other than Net2Phone and your Internet
connection. Once this is completed, please try using Net2Phone
again.
If the above steps do not correct your problem, please reboot
your computer. Then connect to your Internet provider and try
to use Net2Phone again. Make sure you close all non-essential
applications while running Net2Phone.

Error message
10060: TCP stack timed out
This is caused by an
unreliable connection from your Internet service provider (ISP).
Please contact your ISP and ask how to improve your connection
so that you at least have a stable 28.8 kbps connection.

Server 1,2,3..Can
not connect to server
Make sure that you are
connected to the Internet.
Check that you do not have a firewall. Call your Internet service
provider (ISP) and ask them if they have a firewall setup.
Close all your non-essential applications and try to use Net2Phone
again.
If you continue to have this problem, it is possible that the
Internet connection that you are using is too slow. Even if you
are using a 28.8 modem, it is possible that you are not actually
getting a 28.8 connection from your Internet service provider.
Please check with your ISP for information on how to receive
a faster connection.

Can not initialize
Winsock.dll
You may have multiple winsock.dll files on your computer which
causing a conflict with the Net2Phone software. You will need
to rename the conflicting Winsock.dll files that are causing
the conflict
Click on Start then Find then Files
or folders. Type winsock.dll and click Find
now.
You may see several winsock.dll files displayed.
Net2Phone uses the winsock.dll file in
C:\Windows or in C:\Windows\System. One by one, highlight the
winsock.dll files that are not in either of the above
directories. Then, right click on your mouse and choose the option
Rename. Next, hit the backspace key, and type in
the name Winosock.old. Rename all of the winsock.dll
files EXCEPT for the one in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System which
Net2Phone needs.
You may have lost your Internet connection. Please make sure
you are connected to the Internet You may check this by either
browsing the Internet or checking your e-mail.

Unable to
locate dialer executable (3), check Cserve.ini
Please go tostart-->find-->files
or folders-->and search for cserver.ini.
Highlight cserve.ini and right mouse click on this
file. Next, click on rename, and rename cserve.ini
to CS.OLD, and try to use Net2Phone again.
Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet, and
then launch Net2Phone.

TCPMAN.EXE
not found
Make sure that you are connected to the Internet. You can check
this by browsing the web or checking your email.
Another possibility is that you have multiple Winsock.dll files
in your computer, usually in the C:\WINDOWS or C:\WINNT directory,
causing a conflict with the software. You will need to rename
the conflicting Winsock.dll file that is causing the conflict
from winsock.dll to winsock.old.

Unable to
connect to server (TCP Error: Can't assign requested address)
Reboot your computer, then open only your internet connection
and Net2Phone. Please try to place another call. If this fails,
contact your ISP's technical support.

The Computer
freezes every time a call is attempted
Please make sure that you are running the latest version of the
Net2Phone software, which is available from the hope page of
our web-site http://www.net2phone.com. If you are not running
the latest version of the software, please download and re-install
the most recent version.
Make sure to close all non-essential applications in your computer
while trying to use Net2Phone.

Insufficient
memory
You need at least 8 megabytes of RAM to run Net2Phone successfully.

You called
an unauthorized number or Account out of funds
This error occurs under because either you did not purchase any
time to use Net2Phone, you called a number for which the funds
were not enough to cover the cost of the call, or you called a
toll-free number that Net2Phone does not allow.
Ensure that you have enough funds available for the number you
are calling. If you need to purchase additional funds, visit our
web site and click on charge your account or my account
to make a credit card purchase on-line or via fax. Otherwise,
you may view information on other methods of payment in our help
section (click here
to view).
Check that the number your are dialing is correct. Please note
that numbers must be dialed as if they originate from the US.
Therefore, to call a number in the US, Canada or the Caribbean
Islands, you would dial 1 + area code + number. To call a number
outside of these places, dial 011 + country code + city code
+ number.

Your account
is in use
It is possible that the last time you placed a call it did not
end properly, and our database still thinks that you are logged
on to our network.
Close Net2Phone and disconnect from your Internet provider. Wait
several minutes, and re-connect to your Internet service provider
and try to place your call again.

Net2Phone
can not open 16 bit wave device
Net2phone does not support MWAVE sound devices. You will need
to purchase a different sound card, such as a soundblaster sound
card from Creative Labs, to use Net2Phone.
Make sure that you are connected to the Internet
Please make sure that no other programs are running, like CD
Player, Answering System, etc. or are using your sound devices.
Once you make sure that all non-essential programs are closed,
connect to the Internet and try using Net2phone again.

I have two
ISP's, When I run Net2Phone it defaults to one. I want it to
default to the other.
Before launching Net2Phone, connect to the Internet provider
you wish to use to place Net2Phone calls. Once you have dialed
into the your Internet provider, launch Net2Phone and place your
call.

Invalid Account/Pin
You accidentally entered the wrong 5 digit security PIN number.
Please choose Edit and then Erase Pin.
The next time you place a call you will be asked to enter your
pin.
If you forgot your pin, please email info@net2phone.com
with the word problem in the subject, and provide
the following information:
Your mothers maiden name or other security word entered
at registration.
Your address and phone number;
Your Net2Phone account number.
After you provide us with this information we will be glad to
email you your pin number.
